Iron Horsemen Clubhouse Destroyed

Hamilton, Ohio, USA (May 7, 2020) BTN - A fire early Wednesday morning destroyed the Iron Horsemen Clubhouse along with two other houses. Several people called 911 to report fire and smoke at houses in the 600 block of Ludlow Street, according to Butler County dispatchers. The fire was so large, residents who live several streets over also called 911, they said.

Firefighters arrived on scene shortly after neighbors detected the fire around 2:00 a.m. By the time firefighters were able to put out the fire, the damage was already done. Five houses had been damaged with three of them total losses.

“Usually we’re still able to look at the structure and see kind of where it started,” said Chief Mark Mercer with the Hamilton Fire Department. “This one has totally burned to the ground, and there’s just nothing left of it.”

The chief said the fire started in the one-story home in the middle. The home to the left was the clubhouse of the Iron Horseman Motorcycle Club.

Hamilton Police Department say they’ve had no problems with anyone at that address in recent history. Just a couple of car stops out front. Foul play is not suspected.

The only camera known to have captured anything began shooting after the fire started, the Hamilton Fire Department says they will continue investigating.

Iron Horsemen MC member killed in home invasion

Cincinnati, Ohio (December 12, 2018) BTN — A man was shot and killed while breaking into a home in Whitewater Township early Wednesday, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. Investigators identified him as Andrew Naegele, 26. That homeowner, John Heard, is now charged.

Heard, called 911 and reported that he had shot a man in the chest as he was breaking into his home on Ohio 128 near Cilley Road just before 1 a.m.

During the 911 call, Heard said that the man he shot and killed was a member of the Iron Horsemen motorcycle club who also came to his house on Monday night to "rough him up," but he didn't know him.

"I told him to leave, leave, leave," the man said on the call to 911. "And he come at me and he knew that I had a gun. And he kept coming. I had to shoot him.”

Deputies interviewed the homeowner. They say Heard admitted that Naegele was his drug dealer there to collect money he owed for methamphetamine.

Heard has been taken to jail on a gun charge. He's not allowed to have a gun due to a previous conviction.

Deputies say they're still investigating whether additional charges will be filed.

Detectives are also trying to find a pickup truck seen by witnesses leaving the home immediately after the shooting. They don't have any information about make, model or color.

Iron Horseman MC Chapter President sentenced to 35 years

Covington, KY (December 14, 2017) — Part of Northern Kentucky's crystal methamphetamine supply rode in with the Iron Horsemen motorcycle club for two years. Earlier today, a federal judge sentenced an Iron Horsemen motorcycle club leader from Boone County to 35 years in prison.

Florence Iron Horsemen chapter president and national "enforcer" Matthew Wesley Shaffer was convicted by a jury on drug distribution and weapons charges, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release.

U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning gave the sentence to the 39-year-old Walton resident Thursday in a Covington courtroom. Shaffer has to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence under federal law.

Trial evidence showed Shaffer led a group of people who smuggled crystal methamphetamine in October 2016 into the Boone County Detention Center. Shaffer directed a group transporting "large" amounts of crystal meth in 2015 and 2016 from California to Northern Kentucky, according to trial evidence.

On Aug. 25, 2016, police found Shaffer at his Walton home in possession of 180 grams of crystal meth, two loaded firearms, body armor and nearly $9,000 in cash.
