Outlaws Motorcycle Club Member Arrested

St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada (April 25, 2025) - A major drug trafficking investigation has led to the seizure of over 100 kilograms of suspected cocaine and the arrest of four individuals, including a full-patch member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club. The three-month investigation, launched in January by the OPP-led Biker Enforcement Unit, focused on suspected drug trafficking by outlaw motorcycle gang members in St. Catharines.

 

With support from Niagara Regional Police, York Regional Police, and Halton Regional Police, the probe uncovered a trafficking network moving cocaine from the Greater Toronto Area to Nova Scotia. On April 4, 2025, police executed a search warrant at a home in Richmond Hill, seizing approximately 101 kilograms of suspected cocaine and more than $215,000 in cash.

Additional warrants executed the same day at two St. Catharines residences uncovered oxycodone tablets, five ounces of suspected cocaine, a money counter, and more Canadian currency.

Four individuals from St. Catharines now face a total of eight drug trafficking-related charges.

Randy Mcgean, Sherry Stillwell, and Cody Soulliere, all residents of St. Catharines, have each been charged with:

Outlaws Motorcycle Club Member Sentenced

Naples, Maine​, USA (April 10, 2025) - A judge in a Cumberland County court sentenced a Portland tattoo shop owner to 15 years, with all but 5 suspended, for last summer's fatal shooting of Susan McHugh. Aaron Karp will spend 5 years in state prison with 4 years probation after agreeing to plead guilty to a lesser manslaughter charge.

Karp originally faced an intentional or knowing murder charge. According to the judge's decision Thursday morning, if Karp misbehaves, breaks a no contact order or violates his probation he will serve the full 15 years.

 

Last July, 48-year-old Karp shot and killed 54-year-old McHugh during what police and prosecutors say was a brawl and shootout involving rival motorcycle clubs. The violence broke out near Morrill's Corner in Portland at 1155 Forest Ave., across the street from Almost Famous Tattoos & Piercings, which Karp owns. His defense had argued in previous hearings that Karp was firing in self defense.

Eighteen gunshots can be heard in surveillance video near the shooting, and people can be seen scurrying for cover. Three others were shot and injured that day. Karp, who turned himself in to police on August 2, is one of seven defendants connected to this case.



The other six defendants — Caleb Pelkey, Kaleb Cidre, James Moody, Nathan Walsh, Kristofer Haken and Jason Kennan — face elevated aggravated assault charges and will all be tried together. A judge agreed to a joinder request in March after attorneys argued that holding six separate trials over many months would lead to "lots of logistical issues."

Biker caught on video in highway drive-by shooting

Tampa, Florida, USA (April 8, 2025) - Troopers are searching for a motorcyclist who fired several shots at a vehicle on westbound I-4 early Sunday morning. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 34-year-old St. Petersburg man was traveling on I-4 in Tampa around 2:28 a.m. when he spotted several motorcyclists driving erratically with another vehicle west on I-275.

 

When the man began filming the motorcyclists with his phone, one of the motorcyclists rode up next to his car and discharged several rounds from a handgun, troopers said. While several rounds struck the man’s Honda CR-V, he was not injured.



The suspected shooter is described as a white man with a medium build. He was wearing a jacket with the “Outlaws MC” logo, referring to the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.

Outlaws MC club member pleads guilty

Buffalo, New York, USA (January 2, 2025) - An Outlaws MC club member who pleaded guilty to a gun charge has already been in jail for a portion of what federal guidelines suggest for a sentence. Scott Barnes, whom prosecutors have described as a national enforcer for the Outlaws, has been in jail since December 2023.

Federal agents on December 7, 2023, executed a search warrant at the 400 block of Northumberland Avenue, Buffalo, New York. Scott had been living in the upper portion of the building for several weeks before law enforcement searched it.

 

During the search, agents recovered a .40 caliber Glock handgun loaded with 11 rounds of ammunition on an end table near his sleeping area with other personal items. The firearm was reported stolen in 2013 by its owner.

Scott was among nine defendants named in the Pharaoh’s witness retaliation indictment. But his charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and also possessing a stolen Glock .40-caliber pistol were not related to the alleged retaliation against Crystal Quinn, 37, a former exotic dancer who died of a fentanyl overdose in 2023.

Among the other defendants in the retaliation case are four people accused of participating in a witness-tampering and retaliation conspiracy targeting Quinn. At the time of her death, Quinn had entered into a formal cooperation agreement with federal prosecutors to testify in Gerace’s bribery, sex- and drug-trafficking trial.

Outlaws MC member charged in deadly shooting

Portland, Maine, USA (August 14, 2024) - Police have charged a Outlaws Motorcycle Club member with murder in connection with a shooting on Forest Avenue that left a Gray woman dead. Police said Aaron Karp, of Naples, turned himself in at the Portland Police station Thursday evening, and he is currently being held without bail.

 

Police have not released any details about the connection between Karp and the victims. A court file for Karp was not available Friday. A background check run through the Maine Bureau of Identification shows he has no criminal history in the state.

On his Facebook page, Karp describes himself as a tattoo artist at Almost Famous Tattoos & Piercings, which is next to the shooting scene, and has several pictures showing he is a member of the Outlaws motorcycle club.

Karp is charged in the murder of Susan McHugh, 54, of Gray, at about 8:45 p.m. on July 30. She was shot at the 1110 block of Forest Avenue along with a 45-year-old New Hampshire man, a 48-year-old Yarmouth man and a 51-year-old Gray man.



All three other victims have since been treated for their injuries and released from a local hospital. Police have not made any other arrests yet, but said the investigation continues. “This is just the beginning, as we will continue to work with the Office of the Maine Attorney General to build our case as we look for justice for Ms. McHugh,” Dubois said.

Outlaws MC leave for a funeral

Leonard "Terry the Terrible" Henderson was murdered with several others on July 4, 1979 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Outlaws MC welcomed in Vermont city for gathering

Rutland, Vermont, USA (July 14, 2024) - Rutland, a small city in Vermont with less than 20,000 people is preparing for a visit from the Outlaws Motorcycle Club. City officials say the Outlaws MC is holding its national meet at the Vermont state fair grounds starting Thursday.

 

While the local news is pushing that the Outlaws MC is on multiple Federal watchlists with ties to organized crime, Rutland’s mayor doesn’t believe any issues will come up during the group’s time in the Marble City, he says it’s better to be prepared.



“Any motorcycle club coming to Rutland to celebrate, to do something at the fair grounds, I think that’s awesome,” Rutland mayor Mike Doenges said. “I think its great that people want to participate. You look at things like Daytona Bike Week or Laconia and those are great economic drivers for those communities."

"Those communities are prepared for those things though, this is the first time we’ve had something like this in Rutland of this size.” Mayor Doenges says the city is looking at additional law enforcement staffing from July 18th to the 20th.

Pagan's MC members arrested after bar fight

Key West, Florida, USA (March 5, 2024) - Four Florida Keys men were arrested March 2 after a fight on Big Pine Key that started over a T-shirt, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The scuffle happened at the Boardwalk Bar and Grill on Big Pine. Three of the men arrested belong to the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

 

Arrested was Derek Queen of Key West, Anthony Eliopulos of Ramrod Key and David Mirth of Big Pine. The arrests came after deputies said Jeffrey Jones, of Key West, was at the restaurant’s bar wearing a black T-shirt with white lettering that reads, “Support Your Local Outlaws.” Three Pagan's MC members showed up and proceeded to forcibly walk Jones outside the restaurant and hold him against his will.



No one connected with the fight, even the restaurant’s management, wanted to cooperate with law enforcement. The alleged victim, Jones, repeatedly tried to leave the scene despite deputies warning him to stay put. After 11 warnings from deputies, Jones tried once more to leave. Deputies put him in handcuffs and arrested on a charge of obstructing a criminal investigation.

All four were still locked up at the county jail on Stock Island the day after the fight. But Jones was released in the afternoon without having to post bond. The Pagan’s MC members each have bonds set at $150,000.



MCSO detectives had to reach out for help from the Drug Enforcement Administration to view the restaurant’s security video because they said the management refused to hand it over. So detectives obtained a federal subpoena for the video and that prompted management to release it.

New trial in Outlaws MC murder case

Joliet, Illinois, USA (January 26, 2024) - A Will County judge granted a defense motion for a new trial in a case in which a jury found a man guilty of killing a woman at the Joliet Outlaws clubhouse. Judge Dave Carlson based his decision on the “cumulative effect” of all the errors by prosecutors and himself in the 2022 trial.

 

In 2022, a jury found Boshears guilty of killing Katie Kearns, 24, in 2017 at the Outlaws clubhouse in Joliet Township. The jury also found Boshears guilty of concealing her homicidal death from authorities by stowing her body at a barn in Kankakee County. An investigation by the Will County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of Boshears in 2017.

Carlson said he was not going to grant Boshears an acquittal – which would have overturned the jury’s verdict – but he would order a new trial based on what he considered the volume of errors committed during the trial.

Man shot outside Outlaws MC Clubhouse

Marion, Indiana, USA (January 1, 2024) - A man ended up in critical condition after being shot in the chest early New Year’s Day in Marion.

According to the Marion Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call at 4:19 a.m. after a caller reported that someone had been shot at 1102 S. Race St. in Marion. The address points to the Outlaw Motorcycle Club, police said.

 

Officers found 42-year-old Charles Hill, of Kendallville, Indiana had been shot in the chest. They began life-saving aid; Hill was taken to a Marion hospital before being transferred to a Fort Wayne facility. He remained in critical condition as of Monday afternoon.



Police executed a search warrant on the property. They located several individuals and secured the location for processing. Investigators then located and collected evidence. The shooting remains under investigation.

Outlaws MC Members Arrested in Florida

Marathon, Florida, USA (December 8, 2023) - The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its crackdown on motorcycle clubs. Three men with the Outlaws Motorcycle Club were arrested after a traffic stop in the Florida Keys turned up guns and drugs on Monday, police say.

 

Deputies arrested two Key West men and another man from Tamarac, Florida — all of whom are with the Outlaws motorcycle club — on gun and drug charges following a traffic stop Monday, December 4, on U.S. 1, according to Adam Linhardt, spokesman with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.



All three men were wearing Outlaws MC clothing and there were open alcoholic beverages in plain view, along with a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to authorities.

Linhardt said deputies found a 9 mm pistol and ammunition, a loaded .40-caliber pistol and ammunition, roughly .3 grams of cocaine and 6.3 grams of marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Fire Erupts at Outlaws Motorcycle Clubhouse

Saginaw, Michigan, USA (November, 2, 2023) - About 11:24 p.m. on Monday, October 30, Saginaw firefighters received a call for smoke on the city’s West Side. Shortly thereafter, a Michigan State Police helicopter flying overhead reported a heat signature coming from a building on Durand Street, said Saginaw Interim Fire Chief Brandon Hausbeck.

 

At that, crews quickly upgraded their response to a structure fire. They arrived at 1903 Durand St., a private club of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, to see smoke emanating from it, Hausbeck said. Crews entered the building and extinguished the blaze. There were no civilians inside at the time, Hausbeck said.



The building sustained smoke and fire damage but is not a total loss. The estimated cost of damage, both to the structure and its contents, is $45,000, Hausbeck said.

Outlaws MC members charged with arson

North Providence, Rhode Island, USA (October 20, 2023) - Two members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club were in court on charges related to two fires at the same location in Scituate. Prosecutors say the same detached garage off Tunk Hill Road caught fire around midnight on June 29th and 5:00 A.M. on July 6th. Investigators from the state fire marshal’s office said they found accelerant at the scene in both cases.

 

The defense attorney argued in court that his client was never there. “I haven’t heard that this young man’s anywhere near this place, other than he’s a friend of a guy,” the defense attorney said. “I know you too. Doesn’t mean we’re setting fires.”



Scituate police conceded that they weren’t able to place the accused at the scene, but they believe he’s the one who ordered the other member to set the two fires. Sgt. Matthew King said surveillance footage showed his car at the scene, and he recited text messages between the two men aloud in court.

While a specific motive for the alleged arson is unclear at this time, police allege that he and the victim had a disagreement with one another. Both are due back in court next week for a status hearing.

Matilda's Bar on Route 66

Originating as the McCook Outlaws MC, the club was founded by Electro-Motive Company employees at Matilda's Bar on Route 66 in the southwestern Chicago suburb of McCook, Illinois in 1935​.

John Davis was reportedly the founder of the club. Although inactive during World War II, the Outlaws reformed afterwards and attended the first major post-war motorcycle rally, held at Soldier Field in Chicago in May 1946.

Outlaws MC Member Accused of Fleeing Deputies

Daytona, Florida, USA (October 25, 2022) - A member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club faces seven charges after a deputy sheriff spotted him going over 100 miles per hour on a motorcycle in Flagler County after fleeing a traffic stop in Ormond Beach.

 

Among the new charges are two felony counts of fleeing and eluding with disregard of safety to persons or property. He’s also received seven traffic citations in connection to this incident, including reckless driving, failing to obey law enforcement and knowingly driving with a suspended license.

The Ormond Beach Police Department (OBPD) also filed fleeing and eluding charges against Wilson and his motorcycle was seized by FCSO.

Police Warn Citizens about Outlaws MC Members

St. John's, N.L., Canada (July 16, 2022) - Police in Newfoundland and Labrador are warning residents of an anticipated increase in motorcycle club activity, particularly in central Newfoundland, this weekend.

 

Royal Canadian Mounted Police said through it's website and a Twitter post that it expects an increased presence of Outlaws Motorcycle Club members in the province starting Friday, July 15, and running through to Sunday, July 17.

The police then went on to describe what is a motorcycle gang, including the following:

"Voluntarily make a commitment to band together, abide by their organization's rules, and engage in criminal activities".

RCMP Warns Public About Outlaws MC

St. John's N.L. (September 1, 2021) - RCMP in Newfoundland and Labrador are warning residents of an increase in motorcycle club activity over the Labor Day weekend.

In an August 31 release, NL RCMP said it expects an increased presence of Outlaws Motorcycle Club members in the province, particularly in Central Newfoundland, from September 1st until around the end of the Labor Day weekend.

 

In their bulletin, the RCMP described an "Outlaw Motorcycle Gang as any gang of motorcycle riders and supporters who make a commitment to band together and abide by a set of organizational rules while engaging in criminal activities".

Police also said the Outlaws Motorcycle Club is a “one per cent club,” which distinguishes them from most motorcycle riders who are law-abiding citizens.

MC Member Wants Expert Witness Called

Joliet, Illinois, USA (May 13, 2021) - The Will County State's Attorney's Office filed a motion this week asking a judge to prevent first-degree murder defendant Jeremy Boshears from calling an expert witness with Larsen Forensic & Associates to testify that Katie Kearns took her own life and was not the victim of a homicide inside the Joliet Outlaws clubhouse.

Boshears, a member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, has remained in the Will County Jail since November 18, 2017, charged with first-degree murder in the death of Kearns. According to prosecutors, she was his new girlfriend at the time of her gunshot death inside the Outlaws Clubhouse in Joliet.

 

About three-and-a-half years ago, Kearns vanished after tending bar at the Woody's Bar in the 1000 block of East Washington Street. Kearns planned to visit the Outlaws clubhouse, just up the road, after tending bar on Joliet's east side. Her body was found four days later southeast of Joliet, in rural St. Anne, in Kankakee County. She was dead inside the Jeep with a single gunshot wound to her head, police said.

According to court records, the Will County Sheriff's Police suspected the bullet wound to Kearns' head occurred inside the Outlaws clubhouse and "they located a hole consistent with the size of a bullet in the ceiling. They entered the ceiling area/attic and found a bullet ricochet mark on a roof rafter. A search revealed a spent bullet among the ceiling rafters and insulation."

In Monday's filing by Assistant Will County State's Attorney Steven Platek, the prosecutor asked Will County's judges to bar Boshears' criminal defense lawyers Neil Patel and Chuck Bretz from presenting opinions at trial from Arthur Borchers, who is employed by Larsen Forensics & Associated located in Glen Ellyn.

According to prosecutors: "Arthur Borchers concludes that the victim in this matter died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. That evidence from the scene when compared to the entrance and exit wounds to the victim were analyzed and allow reconstruction of bullet paths and angles."

The prosecution's motion goes on to state that Borchers determined "That there are no eyewitness statements or accounts as to what happened when the gunshot was fired."

"Arthur Borchers assumes body positions and angles of the victim's head without any basis," the prosecutor argued. "Additionally, he assumes that the defendant, if shooting, would have had a 'natural shooting position with a straight arm.' There is no basis for this assumption."

Lastly, the prosecution maintained that "concluding the gunshot was self-inflicted goes far beyond his expertise of forensic reconstruction and has no basis ... the people of the state of Illinois respectfully request this honorable court to grant people's motion for barring any testimony that this was a self-inflicted gunshot wound."

Monday's motion was submitted by Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow and assistant state's attorney Platek.

Will County's judges have previously authorized multiple payments of taxpayer funds to allow Bretz, Flynn & Associates to hire the expert witnesses with Larsen Forensic & Associates as they explored an alternative death scenario suggesting that Kearns, who had a history of severe depression and had been hospitalized for suicidal tendencies, took her own life at age 24.

According to Will County court records, Boshears will be back in court May 17 to set a hearing date on the prosecution's motion seeking to prevent Borchers from testifying to his alternative theory regarding the death of Kearns. At the May 17 hearing, a judge may also set a date for Boshears' jury trial.

Arrest Made After Outlaws Clubhouse Raid

Anderson, Indiana, USA (May 7, 2021) - A man accused of a stabbing turned himself into authorities overnight, according to Madison County Sheriff Scott Mellinger. Christopher Smith, is charged with a Level 2 felony robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and Level 3 felony aggravated battery. A warrant was issued for Smith’s arrest on April 15.

According to authorities, Smith and Matthew Pope, 46, also of Anderson, are accused of stabbing Steven Henderson around 1:30 a.m. on April 1 at Woody’s Bar in Lapel. Pope has been in custody on the same charges as Smith since April 27. He is being held on a $35,000 full cash bond.

 

Witnesses told investigators that Smith and Pope followed Henderson into the bar’s restroom, according to an affidavit of probable cause by Brad Oster of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. Henderson was wearing an Outlaws Motorcycle club vest with Chicago markings the night he was stabbed, according to Oster.

Witnesses then told authorities that Smith and Pope “came running out of the restroom” and Smith was holding the vest Henderson had worn. “A few moments later, Steven Henderson was seen crawling out of the restroom and he had been stabbed in his abdomen, upper left leg and face,” according to Oster’s affidavit.

Henderson’s artery was cut and he required seven liters of blood and is undergoing extensive medical treatments for his injuries, according to Oster. Henderson told investigators the stabbing was because of “Outlaw business between the Chicago, Fort Wayne and Anderson chapters,” according to the affidavit.

He told investigators the men were trying to get information out of him about the Chicago clubhouse, but declined to elaborate. Henderson said he had a knife on his belt when he went into the restroom, but it was stolen that night and he believes it might be the knife that was used to stab him.

Outlaws MC Clubhouse Raided in Anderson Indiana

Anderson, Indiana, USA (May 3, 2021) - Anderson Police, Madison County Sheriffs deputies and Indiana State troopers raided the Anderson, Indiana headquarters of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club Saturday.

Law enforcement were looking for a suspect and any evidence in a near fatal stabbing from middle April. “A warrant was executed, a warrant was obtained, and with two or three SWAT teams that warrant was executed last night at the Outlaws clubhouse. We took some evidence. What the value of that evidence is right now we really don’t know for sure. There may be some value there.” Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings said. 

 

Cummings said investigators were searching for evidence regarding the assault of a Chicago man in the restroom of Woody’s Tavern in Lapel last month. “He came here, stopped in a bar, had Outlaws motorcycle club gear and patches, and there happened to be two real Outlaws MC members in the bar,” said Cummings. “They weren’t too happy to find he was a guy wearing the stuff but really wasn’t part of their club, got into a conflict, he got stabbed several times.”



Police have already arrested Matthew Pope, 46, and are still seeking Chris Smith, 34. “They concluded he was not a real Outlaw and the conflict took off and after they stabbed him, they took his colors and his jacket and left,” said Cummings. “He didn’t have those anymore.”

Cummings said the Outlaws have traditionally kept a low profile in Madison County and as a result have not been the target of any extensive criminal investigations. “There’s been Outlaws here for decades,” he said, “but off-and-on, sometimes they come, sometimes they go, it appears they’re coming back, making an appearance here.”
